Families with children – and anyone who enjoys exploring nature with open eyes – will fall in love with the 'Elfenweg' in Obervintl. This charming trail winds along the edge of the forest, providing adventure for both young and old.
Our forest fairy 'Lili' will accompany you along the 3 km didactic route through romantic moss woodland, past eleven discovery stations set in a breathtaking natural backdrop. Along the way, 'Lili' has plenty of stories to share: she teaches how to read animal tracks, guides you to the bee hotel, and sparks curiosity about the many little wonders hidden in the forest.
Adventurous visitors can walk barefoot to feel the forest moss floor, spot wildlife, or listen for forest birds in the trees above.
A true highlight is the dramatic Obervintl waterfall, plunging 43 meters into the depths below. You will marvel at its thunderous roar and wild beauty and apprecate the location as a perfect setting to rest, picnic, or simply recharge. From there, the path leads to a rocky balcony with panoramic views over the village. On the way back, there's one more surprise: a glimpse into the mysterious habitat of a dry-stone wall.
The 'Elfenweg' begins at the church in Obervintl, but you can also start directly at the Obermoarhof. The trail is easy, family-friendly, and even suitable for strollers all the way to the waterfall. Whether in summer or winter, it's a rewarding destination for families and anyone enchanted by the magic of the forest.
