Cycling with ease – on the way on the Puster Valley Cycle Path

The Puster Valley Cycle Path is a wonderful way to explore the valley at a leisurely pace by bike – perfect for families, connoisseurs, and anyone who enjoys being surrounded by nature.

The route starts in Mühlbach and covers around 105 kilometers via Bruneck to Lienz in East Tyrol across the border – past flowering meadows and fields, picturesque villages, and gentle mountain landscapes that are perfect for a short break. The path is almost entirely paved, pleasantly flat, and therefore also ideal for children.

If you don't want to cycle the entire route in one go, you can divide it into three relaxed stages – each with its own scenic charm. Particularly practical: the railway line with bicycle transport runs parallel to the route, allowing you to plan each stage flexibly – ideal if you want to take your time or only cycle part of the route.

It is particularly enjoyable to cycle through the Puster Valley at a leisurely pace, with the mountains in view, the wind in your hair, and a sense of freedom. Along the way, rest areas and picnic meadows invite you to linger. And in the small villages, there is always something to discover – be it a playground, a farm shop, or an ice cream parlor.

The stage from Brunico to San Candido is particularly charming: gentle ups and downs, fantastic mountain scenery – and as a reward, a detour to the pedestrian zone of San Candido with delicious ice cream. A real family outing with heart.
