On hot summer days, there is hardly anything better than dipping your feet in cool water – or diving right in. The Issinger Weiher lake, just a few kilometers from Vintl, nestled in a peaceful, green landscape, is the perfect place for this.
As one of the last pond biotopes in South Tyrol, this natural swimming lake is not only idyllic but also ecologically valuable. Dragonflies flit over the water's surface, reeds sway quietly in the wind – and if you look closely, you can discover the colorful life in the water among the water lilies.
For families, the pond is a little paradise. Children love the small playground as well as the water slide and the bubbling fountain in the middle of the lake, while the grown-ups relax on the lawn or read a good book. There is a protected area for non-swimmers – which is reassuring. Even on hot summer days, the place never feels crowded, but pleasantly relaxed.
Right next door is the KronAction high ropes course – if you like, you can combine your day at the lake with a little adventure. And if you get hungry, the restaurant right by the lake, which is open all year round, offers a fine selection of dishes. Parasols and sun loungers can also be hired there.
The Issinger Weiher is one of those places you like to visit again and again – especially with children.
